SAN is at the block level, so when you put NTFS on it, it isn't "like" NTFS, it actually is NTFS. SAN is literally just a big hard drive somewhere else.

If you can write a check, you can expand a SAN. :) Seriously, they are pretty easy to expand and very flexible. You can add space to a server or to the whole SAN array on the fly.
